Clowning around

C the Clown

The clown provided interesting performances to all the children and tried to make sure that all has participated. Here Ethan was chosen as one of the puppeter.

Lots of singing and dancing for every body. Next week, on Tuesday - it's back to school!

IPod shuffle

Ethan got his green IPod shuffle last year as a christmas present.

IPod shuffle was very popular last year, almost everyone at work have them. I, on the other hand have a different brand of MP3 player. It's same size of IPod shuffle but it was cheaper, holds about 1000 songs and pictures and downloading music from computer is free.

About 3 years ago, I saw a little girl - about 4 years old in a restaurant being entertained by watching a movie in an IPod Nano. And I thought, that is really cool gadget. I wished I had one for my children, so when I want them to sit still and don't get bored waiting for our order in a restaurant or when we are in car for a long journey.

Now, this gadgets are affordable and so many colours to choose from to suit ones character.

But I still don't have one:-)

Weekly adventures Part 1

For the first part of our weekly adventures, we headed New South Wales. Without itinerary, just looking at the GPS point of interest along the way, our first stop was, Barney Point at Tweed Heads. We just drove around the area and found a river with some people swimming and boating.

An old timber bridge (closed permanently for repair) was our first point of stop. We found some baby mud crabs under the bridge. Ethan as usual, scared himself looking at mud crabs and telling us to get off the bridge.

For the second half of our journey - somewhere in Ballina - found this secluded beach. Only about 3 families were swimming and sun bathing.

We didn't plan to swim and the kids didn't bring swimming togs, luckily Krystina's togs we're still in the car but they didn't have spare clothes. Ethan sat in the car using the blanket to cover his bottoms and used the car windows to hang their clothes to dry.

Meeting old friends

It was the first time we've seen them again after we moved from New Zealand to here in Australia 2 years ago.

About 5 months ago, B and R and their children moved to Gold Coast (40 kms away from our place) to live here permanently. Their plans of moving here were emailed to me by old friends back in NZ and passed our contact details to them. So, after 3 months of living here, they finally contacted me and left a message in the voice mail (we're out at the time they called).

Then on January 1st, they invited us to come to meet them for lunch and to meet another couple who came for a holiday from NZ too. It was really good seeing old friends and the meeting lasted up to dinner time:-)

Jennifer (standing by the table) was an old friend of Bing back in NZ, it was their first meeting again.

Bowling birthday party

Kystina's Prep classmates gathered once again to celebrate one their classmate/friends' 6th birthday.

It was held at AMF bowling at Kessels Rd. About 20 kids came to the party and were divided into 3 teams and with the help of 2 hosts, each children had their turn to play.

After one game, they had lunch and of course the cake. Each also got a token to use to play in the games arcade and loot bag. She came home very tired but happy to see her former classmates. Some of them will go to a different class some will still be her classmate.

Girls talk

Krystina's turn to play, she used the ramp because the bowling ball is too heavy for her size.

She knocked down 8 pins at the first try.
