Snake and Bunny

Ethan's a bit worried and not too confident with this slimy creature so
Dad have to join in and carry him with the snake.

'See i'm not scared anymore'

'Is that a real snake?' - Krystina was chosen to participate in the show

Let's wrap this around your neck first... getting ready

That looks fun

Patting the bunny isn't scary and nicer too - Ethan

The entertainer at the birthday party included animal lecture to educate children (and adults too) about snakes and what to do when you see one and how to avoid getting bitten. It was a good show and a great party!

LOCALe is run by Brisbane City Council in collaboration with emerging event producers. LOCALe events positively activate Council's youth skate park facilities, engage & challenge the local community and promote community groups and activities.

• The events combine a major skate/BMX competition with an entertainment/activities program that showcases youth culture and invites the local community to get in and have a go.

• Families can get involved in such activities as circus workshops, drumming circles, kite making, DJ lessons, sticker making and hip hop dancing workshops.• Nationally recognised bands bring great attention to the event and provide local bands with a great platform to get their own music to new audiences.

• The events create local opportunities and local community groups are sourced to provide food and entertainment wherever possible.

The Pacific Sun

With the excited crowd

happy too

The newly all white paint of the boat.

Leaving the wharf

During school holidays, we went to Southbank to catch a ferry to Bretts Wharf and walked about 300 meters to the Portside Wharf to see the 'big boat'. It was exciting for the children to see her and to introduce it to Ethan so he doesn't get scared once he stepped on her soon for our island holiday.

About 2 pm, a very loud sound of the horn signalling the start of sail away, and people made the countdown. It was a very festive mood for everyone on boat as well as the people in the viewing deck. Some people had colourful streamer near the front side of the boat and the rear end.
We waved goodbye to the people who were on the boat and watched the boat leave the wharf.

Photos below are inside the citycat ferry along the Brisbane river going back to station 1, Southbank.

and nervous Ethan won't go near the railings :-)
